A beautiful mountain bike loop that will take you into Biol's and Belmont's woods. However, pay attention to the 400 meters of altitude that await you across this track.
ROUTE:
Departure is from the commune of Biol. The car park is on the Place de l'Église (all shops). The route descends towards the marshes.
This long circuit is mainly for mountain bikers. With a cumulative difference in altitude of around 400m, it is accessible with a little training. The Biol and Belmont woods offer some fine crossings, which can be very wet. These alternate with open sections on good paths and a few small roads.
Two orientation tables near the route will help you discover the panoramic views from the Vals du Dauphiné to the Chartreuse, the Epine range and the Monts du Chat and Bugey. Mont Blanc can also be seen on a clear day. One is located just after the ‘Aux Bois’ signpost (+500m round trip) and the other in front of the Torchefelon village hall (+800m round trip).
This route passes through 3 villages: Biol, Belmont and Torchefelon. It can therefore start in either village.
