The Vals of Dauphiné, between heritage and hidden treasures

Pilgrimz: 10 places to explore in a different way with your smartphone! What if, during a family walk, your phone helped you look up rather than down?

In the Vals du Dauphiné, the Pilgrimz app transforms a simple walk into a real journey through time. There’s no need to follow a group or read long information boards: the audio guide starts automatically when you arrive at a location. Your phone stays in your pocket, your eyes remain fixed on the landscape… and the stories come to life.

Each audio clip lets you learn more about the history of these monuments and works of art: architecture, anecdotes, daily life, religion…

The route starts in the centre of La Tour-du-Pin and ends in Dolomieu. There are 10 stops along the way, with a distance of around 7 km between each one. You can complete the entire route or simply visit a few of the stops.

On the itinerary:
1/ LThe House of the Dolphins – a 16th-century town house typical of the Renaissance
2/ The Billard Chapel – a mysterious spot overlooking the Hien Valley
3/ The market halls of Virieu – a building with a turbulent history
4/ Chassignieu Church – a unique style giving this church a hint of a Byzantine building
5/ The Lapérouse Mill – flour and bread for the locals

7/ The fresco of Saint Martin – a gesture full of kindness
8/ The François I Bridge – Pont de Beauvoisin, a border town between France and Savoy
